Ranger Tugs: Where Their Passion Began

A Letter from their President:

Growing up in a family that spent weekends on the water, I can't imagine a life without boating. I had the experience of boating in a great variety of conditions, primarily in the Northwest: water sports on the lakes, crossing the Straits of Juan De Fuca with huge tide changes, strong winds, and rollers from the Pacific; exploring and fishing in Canadian, Alaskan, and Florida's coastal waters. These were family affairs and fun times. We were also testing new models or ideas for Livingston Boat Company, Reinell, Bayliner, Wellcraft, and Regal.

We have incorporated the ideas and experiences of insatiable users into the structure, design, and quality that we want in a boat.

Our company was started in 1958 based on a philosophy of quality and 'doing things right' and the reputation we earned continues today. My father Dave works with me daily and is probably the most accomplished boat designer in the world. Creator of thousands of models for various manufacturers, he can boast that more people have owned a boat that he built than any other designer in the world. We concentrate on one model at a time from ideation through in-house design, testing, and manufacturing. Our sales effort is lead by Jeff Messmer who has an impressive history in sales and customer service. In our shop, boats are put together by some of the most experienced boatbuilders in the Northwest. With an average of 15+ years in the business, our staff works hard to ensure that when you're in one of our boats, you'll have fun on the water.

Sincerely,
John Livingston
President

Model Updates

Ranger Tugs introduces the all new 2018 R-27! The newest member of the next generation of Ranger Tug, follows the innovative design cues of the R-29S with modern styling features like the curved front window and overhead glass atrium, delivering exceptional visibility throughout the cabin. Add the Yamaha F300 electronically controlled outboard to the dynamic hull design which incorporates reverse chines and our patented Laminar Flow Interrupters, bow and stern thrusters, and you’ll experience new levels of performance, stability and comfort.  Go to RYS R-27 page for more details.

Ranger Tugs introduces the all new R-23 for 2017!  The new Ranger Tugs R-23 is a much-anticipated addition to our award-winning lineup of Ranger Tugs. Powered by a standard 200 HP Yamaha outboard or optional 170 HP Volvo diesel Duoprop sterndrive, the R-23 bridges the gap between our popular R-21 EC and R-25 SC models.

Ranger Tugs introduces the all new R-29 Command Bridge for 2017!  The R-29 CB offers all of the innovative features that we’ve incorporated into the beautifully designed R-29 S but also adds the comfort, convenience, and excitement of a command bridge.  The new command bridge features seating for four and a full suite of electronic controls including VHF, bow & stern thruster controls, Volvo engine controls, spotlight remote, lighted compass, and optional Garmin autopilot and Navigation system. Powered by a fuel efficient 260 HP Volvo Inboard Diesel engine that is located completely outside of the cabin for quiet cruising. Standard stern and bow thrusters make docking exceptionally easy.

Ranger Tugs introduces the all new R-31CB hard top and new bridge seating for 2017.  The R-31 CB is one of two Ranger Tugs to feature a flybridge equipped with electronic controls at both the upper and lower helm. The flybridge also retracts to allow for trailering the 31’. The builders at Ranger Tugs also equipped the foredeck with seating and a table that can be raised or lowered depending on whether the boat is under way or at anchor or dock for entertaining. In addition to the extra seating now available on the flybridge and foredeck the R-31 CB allows for a larger cockpit area with wraparound seating and extra seating that folds out of the gunwale.
